The adventure continues. Polly has the right keys to each door, and she's ready to unfold more mysteries. Her aunt is not the only one in danger; it's up to Polly to find the villain and protect the people of the island. The association of the Black Ink with depression and how it affects our inner worlds and lives makes this series into a fascinating adventure for all ages.
Polly and the Black Ink gets better with each book. Having gotten my hands on an advanced copy of the book, I was blown away by how Bettencourt continues to build Polly's world and reaching a new breath and depth beyond the first book. This is a must read for anyone that enjoys a good, fun adventure. Well worth the price.
I really liked how this book focused on character and world building. I thought it did a great job developing Polly's character and showing just how determined she is to help protect her friends.
The ending did feel a little abrupt to me. I know plenty of books have endings like that and especially in book series (ie Goosebumps), but it's something that always feels kind of jarring to me when the book suddenly ends.
I had a lot of fun reading this book and the first in the series (long story).
